Police Search for Missing Kea’au Man

Fifty-nine-year-old Barton Bumatay of Kea’au is being sought by the Hawai’i Police Department after being reported missing.

Bumatay was last seen in Kea’au on Dec. 31.

Bumatay is described as a local male, 6-foot-1, and 255 pounds. He has brown eyes and salt-and-pepper hair.

Police say it’s possible that Bumatay may be driving a black 2007 Chevy Colorado with the license plate number HLX 461.

Anyone with information regarding Bumatay’s whereabouts should call the Police Department’s non-emergency line at 935-3311.

Those who prefer to remain anonymous should call the Big Island Crime Stoppers number at 961-8300.
