HPD ‘Actively Investigating’ Puna Murder

A murder investigation has been initiated following the discovery of a woman’s body on her property in Puna.

According to the Hawai’i Police Department, Puna District officers responded to reports of a disturabance on Kapoho Kai Drive Tuesday evening.

Investigation of the calls led to the discovery of a woman’s body with suspicious injuries outside of the home.

Police have identified the woman as 63-year-old Nadean Rutledge of Pahoa.

An autopsy has been ordered to determine the exact cause of death, as Area I Criminal Investigation Section detectives actively investigate the case.
