Kapaʻau Man Charged With Burglary, Theft

A Kapaʻau man is in police custody in connection with a burglary in North Kohala, said an HPD release.
On May 12, a 77-year-old Kapaʻau resident reported that tools had been removed from his property. Police investigation led to a suspect identified as 39-year-old Christopher Kaipo Fernandez of Kapaʻau.
Kaipol was arrested Monday and taken to the Kona police cell block while detectives continued the investigation.
At 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, Fernandez was charged with burglary and theft. Bail was set at $4,000 and he remained at the cell block pending his initial court appearance scheduled for today.
