Police Seeking Pahoa Man in Custody Case

Police are asking for the public’s help locating a 7-month-old infant and her 34-year-old father involved in a custodial interference case.

On Monday night, a 37-year-old Pahoa woman told police that her estranged husband had taken their daughter from the home of a relative and claimed to be heading to Kona.

The man, Eli Jonathan Evans of Pahoa, has not been seen since.

Police said the infant’s mother is concerned for the safety and well-being of the infant.

Evans is described as Caucasian, about 6-foot-1 and 190 pounds, with blond hair and blue eyes.

He may be operating a silver sedan.

The infant, Jasmine Evans, is a Caucasian with blond hair and blue eyes. She measures about 25 inches and weighs about 15 pounds.

Anonymous tipsters can call Crime Stoppers at 961-8300 in Hilo or 329-8181 in Kona.
