Meeting Next Week to Update Public on Kona Airport Expansion

A state transportation official will hold a meeting next week to update the public on the status of an expansion project at Kona International Airport.

Ford Fuchigami, the Department of Transportation deputy director for airports, will discuss a proposed new international arrivals building.

Three members of the state House representing West Hawaii will also be on hand to discuss legislative issues.

The meeting will be held from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the County Council Chambers at the West Hawaii Civic Center.

The legislators who will attend are Rep. Cindy Evans (D-North Kona, Kohala), Rep. Denny Coffman (D-Naalehu, Ocean View, South Kona, Kailua-Kona) and Rep. Nicole Lowen (Kailua-Kona, Holualoa, Kalaoa, Honokohau).
