Standing granted for 3rd petitioner opposed to controversial proposed Punalu‘u development

The owners association of Colony 1 at Sea Mountain, which had its petition for standing derailed earlier this year because of a technicality, now joins two other organizations that were granted standing in May, in contesting a special management area use permit application requested by Black Sand Beach LLC for the proposed Punalu‘u Village adjacent to the popular Ka‘ū black sand beach park that shares its name.

Japanese culture day Bunka No Hi coming to Hilo November 18

The festivities kick off with a short Omikoshi parade starting at the Aupuni Center on Kilauea Avenue and ending at Sangha Hall at 9:30 am.
