Tug on those boots, slap on some spurs and giddyup on yonder to Honoka‘a this week. Western Week is here, and there’s no pussyfooting around it — there’s a galloping good time to be had.

Honoka‘a Western Week continues through May 27, 2019, celebrating the community’s paniolo heritage with a whole passel of activities.

Western Week Movie Night at Honoka‘a Peoples’ Theatre at 5 p.m. will be followed by the new Western Fashion Show at 6 p.m. and Line Dancing from 7 to 9 p.m.

Today, Thursday, May 23, from 4 to 6 p.m., HWW will feature Keiki Cowboy Games and Stick Horse Races at the Rose Andrade-Correia Rodeo Arena.

From 3 to 5 p.m., create your own stick horse for for the Stick Horse Races on Thursday.

Today’s action on Sunday, May 19, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. is the Hāmākua Harvest 4th Annual Farm Festival.
