Did you get your Hawaiʻi driver’s license in February 2023? If so, it might have an error

The Hawai‘i Department of Transportation is notifying Hawaiʻi residents of a printing error affecting some driver’s licenses and state identification cards that were issued in February 2023.

Cost of State ID Cards to Double May 1

The state Department of Transportation is also changing the documents required to prove residence to obtain a Hawaii driver’s license.

County Takes Over Issuance of State ID Cards

The function previously handled by the state Attorney General’s office will now be performed at county driver’s licensing offices in Hilo and Kona.
