Hawai‘i Island police are searching for the driver involved in a pedestrian hit-and-run traffic collision in Ka‘ū that left a 26-year-old female with life-threatening injuries.

The 30-year-old man, who Big Island police did not name and fled following a domestic argument the night before, was shot after firing on officers attempting to apprehend him.

Daniel Pond was found in good health Saturday.

Dalao Godoy is described as 5-feet-2 inches tall, 106 pounds, with brown eyes and brown hair.  Her hairstyle is currently shaved with a ponytail in the upper back area of her head.  She is known to frequent the Mountain View area in the Puna district.

The Hawai’i Police Department would also like to remind the public that anyone determined to be harboring or concealing a wanted person could result in criminal charges being filed against the person who harbored or concealed the wanted person.

Kory Yoshio Maeda was charged with 11 offenses including first-degree attempted promoting a dangerous drug, two counts of second-degree attempted promoting a dangerous drug, second-degree promoting a dangerous drug, six counts of third-degree promoting a dangerous drug and prohibited acts related to drug paraphernalia.

Hawai’i Police officers were recognized for their work during the Kona Crime Prevention Committee’s 2023 Police Officer of the Year luncheon at the Royal Kona Resort on Wednesday.

Responding to a shooting on Aloha Boulevard reported around 5:45 a.m. on Tuesday, Ka‘ū patrol officers made contact with a 43-year-old male victim, also from Ocean View. The victim reported that while sleeping in a tent on his property he was approached by an unidentified female asking for assistance with her vehicle.

Fiesta-Silva was last seen in the at the 1700 block of Kino‘ole Street in Hilo, on Sept. 15 at about 1 p.m., wearing a white shirt, black jacket, and blue jeans plus a multi-colored backpack.

The suspect remains in custody as police continue their investigation.

Todd is 29 years old, 5’2″ tall and 160 pounds with brown eyes and shoulder-length brown hair. She was last seen in the 300 Block of Kapiolani Street in Hilo on Sept. 20 at 6 a.m.

The vehicle was taken from the parking area along the shoulder of the intersection of Komohana Street and Puainako extension in Hilo.

Following the execution of a narcotics search warrant on Delos Santos’ vehicle, VICE officers recovered 265.97 grams – or over a half pound – of methamphetamine, which was broken down into nine separate packets each containing approximately one ounce of methamphetamine.

The suspect has a history of traffic violations and drug abuse. He was wanted by police in March 2021 on five outstanding warrants for bail jumping and criminal contempt of court related to drug charges.

The blaze at a one-story building in the Puna community was extinguished by 12:30 a.m. Saturday. No one was injured.

39-year-old Maio Mihno Semes was found in South Kona in good health.

Big Island police say 76-year-old William Romeo Bishop Sr. was last seen the afternoon of Jan. 22 in the area of his home on 22nd Avenue in Hawaiian Paradise Park. He has not been seen nor heard from since.

The 25-year-old is scheduled to be sentenced on Nov. 20.
