Hawai’i County prosecutor’s office reports 26-year-old Nicholas Andreoni was arrested following two traffic incidents during which he was clocked at driving more than 100 mph on a suspended license.

Charges against 23-year-old Kailua-Kona man Arley Alokoa and a juvenile male stem from an incident June 1 at Kailua-Kona Pier involving an alleged sexual assault, an affray during which another man was injured and a theft of a backpack that likely was the location of the knife used in the fight.

Baker now faces one count of first-degree murder and three counts of second-degree murder, which are directly connected with the killings of 69-year-old Robert Shine, 79-year-old Chitta Morse and 69-year-old John Carse, all from Puna; he remains behind bars and police said will not be eligible for release even if he was able to make bail for the initial property crime charges he also faces.

Three of the arrests occurred in Hilo and the other three in South Kohala, according to Hawai‘i Island police.

The murders of three men within less than 48 hours and ongoing search for 36-year-old armed and extremely dangerous suspect Jacob “Jake” Daniel Baker are causing fear, unease, frustration, grief and more among residents.

Two of the victims were identified by a friend as Bob Shine, 69, and Chitta Morse, 79, who lived within 500 yards or so of each other in Pāhoa.
