NORPAC Food, which is operated out of Salem, Ore., is recalling two frozen private label vegetable items: Natural Directions Organic Mixed Vegetables and Natural Directions Organic Green Pea. Both items were purchased from CRF Frozen Foods and have the potential to be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes.

Listeria monocytogenes are organisms which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. Healthy individuals may suffer short-term symptoms such as high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain, and diarrhea. Listeria infections can also cause miscarriage and stillbirths among pregnant women.
