Whale Watch in the Park

Pu‘ukohola National Historic Site 62, 360 Kawaihae Road Waimea

Every Friday @ 9 a.m. to noon
Volunteers from the nonprofit Hawaii National Marine Sanctuary Foundation lead whale watches from shore at Pu‘ukohola National Historic Site, answer questions, hand out information (two tables full of artifacts, booklets, free information, etc.), and help visitors locate humpback whales in the ocean. We also have binoculars for them to use. Twice a month we have a 30-to-40-minute educational presentation about humpback whales. There is also a Underwater Explorer Junior Ranger Badge from the park that may be earned while we are there on Fridays.
