Arboriculture Awareness: Best Practices to Care for Trees

UH-Hilo University Campus, 200 W Kawili St., Hilo, HI 96720 Hilo

Every Monday @ 5:30–7 p.m.
It’s that time of year when hurricanes are on the minds of everyone living in Hawai‘i. Much of the hurricane damage to homes and buildings is caused by trees that either break apart or are uprooted. Whether you’re a newbie or a seasoned pro, the fundamentals can’t be overlooked.

"Arboriculture Awareness: Best Safety Practices for Caring for Your Trees" is a course geared towards providing homeowners and tree-care professionals with an in-depth knowledge of how to care for urban and residential trees. The focus will be on learning and following proper care and safety measures when working in and around trees. Participants will be instructed on risk management, safe practices, communicating with tree care professionals, understanding arboriculture and tree biology.
