Father Accused of Car Theft, Son of 57 Offenses

A Hilo man and his son have been accused of a total of 58 crimes after being found Wednesday in a stolen car.

Police said Tyson Prim, 37, and his son, Kyson Dameron, 18, were stopped in the stolen sports utility vehicle on Route 11.

Police said the vehicle was stolen following a break-in of a Kupukupu Street home on Dec. 9.

Prim was charged today with car theft. His bail was set at $10,000.

Cameron, meanwhile, was charged with a variety of offenses in connection with unrelated burglaries in the Waiakea area on Dec. 2, 4 and 10.

They included 15 counts each of identity theft and fraudulent use of a credit card, which Cameron allegedly used at various Hilo businesses.

He was also charged with three counts of burglary for the break-ins, 16 counts of theft and eight counts of forgery.

Cameron’s bail was set at $106,750.
