Accolades continue to come in for the University of Hawai`i at Hilo women’s soccer team.

Rookie goaltender Jenna Hufford was named PacWest Women’s Soccer Freshman of the Week Sunday by the conference. The honor recognizes games played between Sept. 9-15.

Hufford allowed just one goal in two matches last week at UH-Hilo’s baseball field. The freshman from Shingle Springs, CA held BYU-Hawai`i scoreless Thursday in a double-overtime draw. Two days later, she allowed one goal in the Vulcans’ 4-1 victory over Chaminade.

Hufford’s play in the net has helped UH-Hilo start the season with a 3-0-1 record. She has allowed just two goals in four matches and has made four saves in 380 minutes of play.
