Big Island police are asking for the public’s help in solving a 40-year-old Kona murder investigation.
The case involved the death of 23-year-old Gayle Hook of Napo`opo`o.
Hook was reported missing on March 29, 1973. Her body was found eight days later in an abandoned church pavilion in Napo`opo`o with a fatal gunshot wound to her left eye.
Police said the investigation is one of several cold cases at which detectives are taking another look by re-evaluating evidence using new technologies.
