This First Friday, Aug. 2, Downtown Hilo will be the pau hana place to be.

From 5 to 9 p.m., food trucks will gather at the Mo`oheau Park, musicians will provide free entertainment, and restaurants and galleries will stay open a little later with refreshments.

Local favorites Braddah Waltah, Randy Lorenzo and the Michael Strand Band will perform at the bandstand.

Stroll about the town, peruse the arts, crafts and wares of Bayfront up to Mamo Street for Hilo’s very first Pau Hana Pa’ina.

Visit restaurants for a little cocktail or dessert, and continue on through the many storefronts in town. Feel free to gaze and perhaps purchase those coveted items.

Then keep the party moving while on Mamo street as celebrations continue for Hilo’s win in the Benjamin Moore paint the town contest.

Weather is fickle; pack the umbrella and bring the appetite for fun and food.
