There are multiple opportunities in the coming weeks for business owners and aspiring entrepreneurs to improve their business and marketing skills.

Free Social Media for Business Workshop Tomorrow in Hilo

Tomorrow a free “Intro to Social Media Marketing” workshop will be held in Hilo  from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at the office of AS Designs & Services.

Covering Google+, Linkedin, Facebook, Twitter, and Pinterest, among other medium, the 90-minute workshop will focus on social media as it relates to business and internet marketing.

Offered by Hilo Web Design, the workshop will be held at 308 Kamehameha Ave., Suite 115, Hilo and will also be broadcast live online.

Attendees are encouraged to register in advance as space is limited. Those unable to attend in person are encouraged to attend virtually.

“Start a Business in Hawaii” Workshop May 15 in Kona

In other business workshop news, the west Hawai‘i office of the SBDC will host a workshop on “Start a Business in Hawai‘i” on May 15 at their Kailua-Kona office, Kuakini Tower, 75-572 Kuakini Highway, Suite 209.

Hazel Beck, senior business consultant with the Hawai‘i Small Business Development Center west Hawai‘i office, will teach people how to turn an idea into a business and what it takes to get a business started in Hawai‘i.

Participants will learn about entrepreneurship, forms of business organization, key ingredients for business success, steps involved in starting your own business, sources of capital and services offered by the Hawai‘i SBDC, as well as other resources for the start-up business.

The workshop is presented by the Hawai‘i County Department of Research and Development and the Hawai‘i Small Business Development Center.

Registration begins at 9 a.m. and the workshop runs from 9:30 a.m. to 12 noon.

Fee for the class is $20. Pre-registration is recommended, but walk-ins will be accepted.
