Spay/Neuter Clinic for Cats This Sunday in Puna
Rainbow Friends Animal Sanctuary will hold a spay/neuter clinic for cats on Sunday, April 14, at the Leilani Estates Community Center in lower Puna. The clinic is scheduled from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The cost is $30. Financial assistance is available through a grant to Rainbow Friends from the Petco Foundation.
Owners need to pre-register their cats for the event.
Cats should not be given food or water after 8 p.m. the night before the surgery and must be brought to the clinic in carriers or humane traps.
Rainbow Friends, which currently houses 80 dogs and 250 cats, said it will offer spay/neuter clinics on a regular basis for both cats and dogs.
Next month, the group will hold a spay/neuter clinic for dogs at the Leilani Estates Community Center.
There is a flat fee of $50 for the dog spay/neuter clinic with financial assistance available as well.
“We feel it’s really important that people spay and neuter their animals,” said clinic coordinator Sandi Alstrand.
