For the second time this season, heavy rain and poor field conditions have combined to force the University of Hawai`i at Hilo softball team to move the site of the games.

The university announced Wednesday that because of the recent rain in Hilo, Thursday’s Hilo Round Robin games have been moved to Waimea Community Park. The site for Friday and Saturday’s contests have yet to be determined.

On February 5, the Vulcans had to move a scheduled doubleheader against Western Washington University to the Old Kona Airport softball field, where a few days prior, both teams competed in the Kona Kickoff Classic. UHH won both games of that doubleheader.

UH Hilo, under head coach Jamie Wallin, enters the three-day Hilo Round Robin with an 8-7 record. Missouri Western State and Western Oregon will join the Vulcans for the event.
