Kona police have arrested a third suspect in connection with last month’s robbery and attack in Kailua-Kona that left a Kealakekua man with a broken jaw.

Police on Wednesday charged 21-year-old Kainoa Bryan of Kealakekua with robbery, assault and theft in relation to the incident in the Ali`i Sunset Plaza parking lot. Bryan was also charged with promotion of a dangerous drug and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Bail for Bryan was set at $80,000.

The charges stem from an attack on a 26-year-old Kealakekua man who had met a local man in a bar and then accompanied to a corner of the rear parking lot to meet with five or six males who punched and kicked him and stole his backpack before fleeing on foot.
