Big Island police are asking for the public’s help locating a missing 32-year-old Waimea man.

Police said Joshua Horan was last seen in Waikoloa on Friday. He was planning to hike with two other men from Pololu Valley in North Kohala east to Waimanu Valley, but was expected back by Sunday. Police say Horan could still be on the hike.

Horan is Caucasian, 5-foot-10 and 145 pounds, with short brown hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing black-and-orange surf shorts and no shirt and carrying a large black backpack.

Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call the police department’s non-emergency number at 935-3311.
