It will be a busy time next week in Pahoa for those interested in geothermal.
Two meetings on the subject have been scheduled, including one being held at the Pahoa High School cafeteria on Tuesday from 5-7 p.m.
The occasion is Puna Geothermal Venture’s quarterly community meeting. Officials from the plant in Pohoiki are inviting residents to hear updates on operations as well as monitoring of noise and hydrogen sulfide emissions. There will also be discussion on contract pricing.
The presentations will be followed by a question-and-answer session with PGV executives.

On Friday, the County Council will hold a public hearing on proposed legislation that would restrict geothermal well drilling to daytime hours.
The meeting is scheduled to begin at 5:30 p.m. at the Pahoa Community Center.
A vote to send Bill 292 to public hearing was made when the measure came before the council for its second and final reading on Oct. 17
