Fall into a fun October with a weekend of corn mazes, pumpkin picking, aural pleasures and Halloween-themed derby girls.

Corn Maze and Pumpkin Patch

It’s officially Halloween with the opening of the Big Island’s largest pumpkin patch and first corn maze event beginning Saturday.

Keiki will enjoy hayrides, a corn maze, petting zoo and pumpkin picking.

Cotton candy, kettle corn and shaved ice will satisfy that sweet tooth.

Feel like something savory? Munch on artisan pizzas made perfectly crisp in Kiawe wood fired brick ovens.

This special weekend continues on Saturdays and Sundays through the end of October from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Corn maze admission is $9 general, $7 for seniors and children aged 6 to 12 years of age. Children 5 and younger get to play for free with paying adult. The hayride is priced at $3 general.

Witches Versus Skeletons

The Paradise Roller Girls are having a Halloween themed bout at the Afook-Chinen Civic Auditorium in Hilo on Saturday.

Watch the athleticism roll on by from 5:45 p.m. with the Big Island Babes junior derby opening for the main bout at 7:30 p.m.

Tickets are $8 pre-sale and $10 at the door. Tickets can be purchased at Mt. View Village Video, CD Wizard, Hilo Town Tavern, Jungle Love Pahoa.

Free Philharmonic Concert

Violinist Rosalie Macmillan joins the Kamuela Philharmonic on Sunday at 4 p.m. in the Hilton’s Grand Ballroom for an aurally rich afternoon experience.

This free concert marks the beginning of the orchestra’s ninth concert season.

Expect to enjoy the Violin Concerto in D major, Op. 77, by Johannes Brahms, Il Matrimonio Secreto Overture, by Domenico Cimarosa, and Symphony No. 104 “London”, by Franz Joseph Haydn.

The Hilton Waikoloa is located at 69-425 Waikoloa Beach Drive in Waikoloa.
