The state Department of Transportation will hold a public informational meeting Tuesday, Oct. 16, on the Puainako Street widening project.

The meeting will be held beginning at 5:30 p.m. at the cafeteria at Waiakea Intermediate School at 200 West Puainako St.

The project involves the widening of Puainako Street from Kilauea Avenue to Komohana Street. Improvements to the 1.5-mile stretch will include sidewalks and bicycle lanes, traffic signals, medians and landscaping.
