The three ballfields at the county’s Walter C.K. Victor Baseball Complex are getting a facelift.

The fields are getting new sod and other improvements in preparation for the 2012 Poi Pounder Baseball Tournament to be held in November, said a spokesman for the Department of Parks and Recreation.

The Hoolulu complex had a busy summer with the play of the Hilo Stars at Wong Stadium, which marked the return of professional baseball to Hilo.

Work on the three ballfields is scheduled to be completed by Oct. 12.
