Two Arrested For Theft of Recyclables

Big Island police on Friday charged a brother and sister from Hilo with burglary for allegedly taking two bags of recyclable items from a  Kekuanaoa Street business.

Jesse Idebond Sablan, 36, of Dana Sablan, 21, were also charged with theft in connection with the alleged incident that occurred shortly after midnight Friday. Police later arrested the siblings and recovered the stolen items, which were identified by police as aluminum cans.

Bali was set at $11,000 for Jesse Sablan and $2,250 for Dana Sablan. Both were being held this morning pending an initial court appearance.
