The Banyan Drive Café will feature the ‘ukulele musicianship of Brittni Paiva on June 23 at 7:30 p.m. Her newest CD release, “Tell U What,” is a production months in the making.

The official CD release is July 10, but lucky locals will get a pre-release treat.

Last year, Paiva sat in and performed with Jazz saxophonist and Grammy Award winner Tom Scott. Soon thereafter, the two were in talks to collaborate on Paiva’s new album with Scott at the production helm.

Scott has three Grammy Awards, 14 nominations and 40 years in the music business working as composer, arranger, producer, director and saxophonist. He has recordings with Barbara Streisand, Thelonius Monk, The Blues Brothers, Aretha Franklin and Frank Sinatra to name a very few.

Paiva continues to evolve and grow as an artist. This newest release enables her singing ‘ukulele style to add unique interpretations to established musical genres such as Jazz, pop, Reggae, Classical, Funk and R&B.

“Tell U What,” also features performances by musician heavyweights such as Arturo Sandoval, Ray Parker Jr., Chuck Findley, Michael McDonald and Scott himself.

After the night is over, Paiva will prepare herself for some island hopping to O’ahu and Kaua’i before jetting over the Pacific to tour on the mainland.
