The Big Island Film Festival is nearly upon us and the screenwriting and filmmaking workshops still have some seats to fill.

Thursday May 24, enjoy the expertise and skill of filmmaker Brian Kohne with writer and consultant Jen Grisanti.

Maui filmmaker Kohne wrote directed and edited his work “Get A Job,” starring local singers and entertainers Willie K and Eric Gilliom. Kohne will explore the indie film from conception to completion with workshop participants from 12:30 p.m. to 3 p.m.

Grisanti, of NBC’s “Writer’s on the Verge,” will discuss the process of writing television spec scripts and television pilots from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.  Workshops take place at the Fairmont Orchid in the Hawai’i Amphitheater.
