Hui Kakoʻo Benefit Concert Series Set for June 29

The Keauhou Shopping Center will present the Hui Kakoʻo Benefit Concert Series on Saturday, June 29, 2019, at the Kai Malo‘o Reef Stage area in front of Longs Drugs from 5 until 7 p.m.

The concert will feature singer-songwriter Kainani Kahaunaele.

Kahaunaele has garnered five Nā Hōkū Hanohano Awards, which includes the highly coveted “Female Vocalist of the Year” award in 2004.

Lacy Deniz will emcee the event.

The Hui Kakoʻo concert is a family-friendly event that supports the The Food Basket Inc., Hawai’i Island Food Bank.

Admission is two cans of food per person, to be donated to the food bank. Bring three or more cans of food for a chance to win a prize from a concert sponsors. Sponsors include Bianelli’s Gourmet Pizza, Blue Sea Artisans Gallery, Kona Stories, Los Habaneros, L&L Hawaiian Barbecue, Robert Thomas Fine Art & Gifts, Sam Choy’s Kai Lanai, and Tropics Tap House.

Keauhou Shopping Center is a proud, ongoing supporter of The Food Basket and its mission to end hunger in Hawaiʻi County. With the communities help, the shopping center aims to beat January’s Hui Kakoʻo concert record which resulted in the most donations to date—1,568 pounds of food and $560 in monetary donations.

Keauhou Shopping Center also hosts regular community events, which include a free hula show every Friday, farmers market on Saturdays and monthly kupuna craft events, in addition to the benefit concert series.
