Kona Aloha Singers Debut Performance Set for May 11

A new nonprofit contemporary/popular music chorus in Kailua-Kona, The Kona Aloha Singers (KAS) will perform their first public performance on Saturday, May 11, 2019, at 7:30 p.m. at the Courtyard by Marriott King Kamehameha Kona Beach Hotel.

Featuring Artistic Director Bernaldo Evangelista, KAS will sing music from movies and Broadway hit shows including The Sound of Music, Mama Mia and Lord of the Rings as well as music from Queen, Elton John, Leonard Cohen, The Eagles, Enya, Dan Forrest and more.

Attendees will hear songs they are familiar with done with the beautiful blending of voices unique to choral music.

Evangelista, both the Artistic Director and Accompanist for the chorus, is well known in our community for his work with music related programs and events. He teaches orchestra, band and drama at Kealekehe Middle School and has a BA in Education and a Masters Degree in Music Secondary Education. He is the Band Director for West Hawai‘i County Band and a Musician at the Ecumenical Church of Light. He can also be found working on shows with the Aloha Theatre and other music events. He was a Soloist for Honolulu Symphony Orchestra, and teaches private voice, piano and flute lessons.

Tickets to the Debut Concert of The Kona Aloha Singers are available online only. The Kona Aloha Singers is a nonprofit and is currently accepting donations.
