Artists Lounge Live will present Get Happy: Angela Ingersoll Sings Judy Garland, as seen on PBS, on Saturday, Jan. 12, 2019, at 7 p.m. and Sunday, Jan. 13, at 4 p.m. at the Kahilu Theatre in Kamuela.

A star is born as Emmy-nominated Angela Ingersoll celebrates American icon Judy Garland, as seen PBS. Ingersoll won acclaim for her stunning portrayal of Garland the play End of the Rainbow (Chicago, Los Angeles). Live in concert, she shines as a force all her own.

“The heiress apparent to the Garland legacy” (Splash Magazine) superbly captures Garland’s emotional and vocal power, and crafts passionate stories with a naturally winning humor. Chicago Sun-Times exclaims, “Phenomenal. Judy Garland has been reborn.” Los Angeles Times declares, “the incandescent star power of the dynamic Ingersoll (is) a ringer fro Garland in every respect.” With an exceptional six-piece band, Ingersoll soars on songs like Over the Rainbow, Come Rain Or Come Shine and The Man That Got Away.

Ingersoll is nominated for an Emmy Award for her outstanding performance in the PBS concert special Get Happy: Angela Ingersoll Sings Judy Garland. She is known for her stunning portrayal of Judy Garland in the play End of the Rainbow, headlining in Chicago, Los Angeles and St Louis. Her star turn earns continual acclaim, including Chicago’s Jeff Award for Best Actress and a Broadway World Award. Attracting the attention of Garland’s family, Ingersoll enjoys the distinction of partnering with Garland’s son onstage for Joey Luft and Angela Ingersoll Celebrate Judy Garland. Other standout performances include How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying (Hedy LaRue, Jeff Award Nomination), South Pacific (Nellie), Carousel (Julie), Disney’s Beauty and the Beast (Belle, Ostrander Award), Man of La Mancha (Aldonza, Ostrander Award Nomination), Jekyll and Hyde (Lucy, Ostrander Award), The Secret Garden (Martha, Jeff Award Nomination), Much Ado About Nothing (Beatrice), Macbeth (Lady Macbeth, Ostrander Award), Richard III (Lady Anne), The Merry Wives of Windsor (Mistress Quickly), The 39 Steps, The Game’s Afoot (Daria), The Great Gatsby (Myrtle) and The Wizard of Oz (Dorothy).

Artists Lounge Live is a dynamic concert series featuring popular music of yesterday performed by tremendous talent of today. Dedicated to serving audiences across the nation, Artists Lounge Live brings acts from America’s entertainment capitals to communities of all sizes. Artists Lounge Live is created by performer/producer Michael Ingersoll. A favorite of PBS audiences, Ingersoll toured the country performing with his retro-rock vocal group Under the Streetlamp, whose television concert specials air in millions of homes nationwide. He is also known for starring as Nick Massi of the Four Seasons in Jersey Boys for the original Chicago, San Francisco, and Los Angeles companies. Ingersoll’s Artists Lounge Live mission states, “We believe in the restorative power of live entertainment.”
