Henry Kapono will host three duo concerts that feature a different guest artist each night. Jerry Santos- Oct. 27, Keola Beamer– Nov. 24, and Milani Bilyeu– Jan. 19, will be joining Henry onstage to share the stories behind the songs that have been a part of our lives for a long time. Each of these artists has held a fundamental role in the development of Hawaiian music over the last 40 years and will perform individual hits then collaborate on a fun jam session. Per Kapono, “Guaranteed to leave people smiling and happy.”

Kapono has been at the creative forefront of contemporary Hawaiian music throughout his career, starting in the 1970’s with Cecilio & Kapono. This Grammy Nominated vocalist, guitarist, songwriter, and composer has taken home 14 Nā Hokū Hanohano Awards (the Hawaiian Grammy) including Male Vocalist of the Year, Song of the Year, Single of the Year, Album of the Year, and Rock Album of the Year. Always musically adventurous, The “Artist 2 Artist” concert series is Henry’s latest endeavor as he continues to break new ground with his collaborations and remind us why he is so loved by the people of Hawai‘i.

Jerry Santos is a renowned guitarist, singer/songwriter born and raised on the island of O’ahu and is most recognized for his work with the group, Olomana. The Hawai‘i musical community has recognized his work with numerous Nā Hokū Hanohano Awards including Male Vocalist, Composition, and both Traditional and Contemporary Hawaiian music. Jerry’s signature song “Ku’u Home O Kahalu’u” was voted #7 on the top 50 Songs of all-time and he was recently awarded a Lifetime Achievement Award by The Hawai’i Academy of Recording Arts for his work with Olomana and their success over the years. Whether performing as a soloist, or with his group, Jerry Santos generates music from the heart with Aloha!
