Sen. Lorraine Inouye, chair of the Senate Committee on Transportation, and Hawai‘i Department of Transportation Deputy Director Ed Sniffen will host the next scheduled gathering of the Sustainable Transportation Forum on Thursday, Feb.15, 2018, at 6 p.m. at the Nā Leo television building in the conference room located at 91 Mohouli St. in Hilo.

The forum will begin with a discussion on past activities of the forum within the HDOT and in other counties. Participants are asked to identify challenges and obstacles to achieving energy and mobility goals on the state and county level and to bring ideas and solutions to overcome these challenges to achieve the goals.

The forum provides stakeholders within the transportation sector discussion opportunities to ensure that environment, social, and economic considerations are factored into decisions affecting transportation activities that can be sustained into the indefinite future without causing irreparable harm to future generations of Hawai‘i.
