“Great spattering in Puʻu ʻŌʻō’s lava lake, a new skylight on the Pali and our volcanic rivulets have become picturesque outbreaks!” said Tropical Visions Video photographer and videographer Mick Kalber about last week’s Paradise Helicopters’ Friday, Sept. 22, 2017, overflight of Kīlauea Volcano and the surrounding area.
Remarkably, Kalber said, the lava delta at the Kamokuna ocean entry is still intact.

Puʻu ʻŌʻō is a volcanic cone in the eastern rift zone of the Kīlauea Volcano of the Hawaiian Islands.
Puʻu ʻŌʻō has been erupting continuously since Jan. 3, 1983, making it the longest-lived rift-zone eruption of the last two centuries.
