Hawai‘i Island professional belly dancer instructor Michelle Leigh of Enchanting Dance will premiere a Middle Eastern-inspired dance entertainment event on Thursday, Sept. 7, from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Kona Elks Lodge.
The monthly cabaret halfa, or dance party, will include a one-hour and thirty-minute show performance featuring local belly dancer talent followed by a half-hour dance party. There will also be a brief lesson for attendees. Dancers who are interested in performing are encouraged to contact Leigh prior to each show to sign up for a scheduled slot.
Admission is $10 and tickets will be sold at the door. Subsequent shows will be held on the first Thursday of each month through 2017: Oct. 5, Nov. 2 and Dec. 7.
The Kona Elks Lodge #2616 is located at 74-5596 Pawai Place in Kailua-Kona.
