Island Air Names Christopher Gossert VP of Finance

Christopher Gossert has been appointed as vice president of finance for Island Air. In his new position, Gossert will oversee all finance functions of the airline and take part in its leadership team as the company continues to expand services.

“We are fortunate to have someone with Chris’ proven experience in finance management and his knowledge of the airline industry,” said David Uchiyama, president and CEO of Island Air. “Going forward, he will play an important role in managing our financial operations and helping to implement our long-term growth and expansion strategy.”

Gossert has extensive experience in financial management. He most recently served as audit senior manager at Ernst & Young LLP where he handled the management, coordination and oversight of financial statement audits for public and private companies. In total, he has 12 years of experience within Ernst & Young’s airline industry practice. His airline clients have included Hawaiian Airlines, Inc., Virgin America, Inc., Avianca Holdings S.A. and Virgin Australia.

Gossert also worked at Hawai‘i National Bank in its management trainee program.

Gossert is a graduate of the University of San Francisco. He is a State of Hawai‘i Certified Public Accountant and a member of the American Institute of Public Accountants. He previously served on the board of directors of the Pu‘u Ali‘i Community Association.
