The Criminal Third Circuit in Hilo yesterday indicted Wayne Teves for murder in the second-degree in connection with the March 2, 2016, murder of Thaine Price in Waipio Valley.
He has also been indicted for carrying a firearm in the commission of a separate felony.
The Hawai‘i Police Department has issued an arrest warrant as a result of the jury’s decision to bring criminal charges against Teves.
The HPD arrived at the scene on March 4, 2016, at 5:56 p.m. after receiving reports from area residents that a body had been found partially submerged in a stream in Waipio Valley the day before.

Area I Criminal Investigations detectives responded to the scene and recovered the body of a Caucasian male, who was later identified as 49-year-old Thaine Ulysses Lucifer Price of Honoka‘a.
The victim was taken to Hilo Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
An autopsy was conducted the next day.

On March 7, 2016, a murder investigation was opened in connection with the case.
The investigation into the incident continued, with the HPD renewing its request for information about the case on June 3, 2016.
This information was provided by the authorities. All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
