The First Annual Big Island ‘Ohana Fest is coming in late August with music, food and fun for the whole family. The event, themed “Mele on the Mountain,” will be held at Waikoloa Stables in Waikoloa from Friday, Aug. 25 through Sunday, Aug. 27, 2017.
The weekend festivities will include locally sourced food, locally made crafts and a variety of music by 28 of Hawai‘i Island’s best musical talent, as well as off-island visitors. Music for all tastes will span reggae, rock, blues, Hawaiian, country bluegrass, indie and more.
Kid-friendly entertainment will include a petting zoo, jump pad (for both kids and adults) Keiki Cart train and pony rides.
The ‘Ohana Fest will happen on Friday, Aug. 25, from 4 p.m. to 11 p.m.; Saturday, Aug. 26, from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m.; and Sunday, Aug. 27, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Three-day passes will be $40 at the door, $35 through presale. Children ages 5 to 12 will be $15 at the door, $10 through presale. Ages 4 and under are free. Information on presale tickets can be found online at bigislandohanafest.com.
One-day passes will be available at the door for $30 adult and $10 children. Ages 4 and under are free. Teachers, students, first responders and all active or military veterans will receive a $5 discount with appropriate ID.
A significant portion of proceeds from the Big Island ʻOhana Fest will benefit two local nonprofit organizations: The Kohala Center and PARENTS, Inc.

Event parking will be free of charge. Carpooling is highly encouraged due to limited parking availability. Other activities, food and crafts will be priced by individual vendors.
