Best-selling field guide author John Hoover will give a special presentation on “Hawai‘i’s Reef Fishes” on Thursday, April 27 at 7 p.m. at Volcano Art Center’s (VAC) Niaulani Campus.
Like most animals, Hawai‘i’s reef fish spend much of their time taking care of the most necessary priorities: food, security and reproduction. The latter process involves a surprising variety of strategies and behaviors to ensure the continued survival of the species.
Hoover will demystify these and other interesting fish characteristics during this evening presentation, featuring underwater photos he captured over 30 years of diving and snorkeling over Hawaiian coral reefs.

The evening presentation is part of the once-a-month Thursday night series at VAC intended to inspire and educate the local community.
VAC’s Niaulani Campus is located at 19-4074 Old Volcano Road in Volcano Village. This presentation is free and donations are graciously accepted.
