Certified Child Passenger Safety Technicians will be on-site at the Waimea Town Market at Parker School on Saturday, April 1, 2017, from 8 a.m. to noon to provide education on how to use car seats, booster seats and seat belts for children.

Child safety seats can dramatically improve a child’s chances of surviving a car crash. But in many cases, children are either not properly buckled into their safety seats or the seats are not properly installed.

The Hawaii Department of Transportation’s goal for child passenger safety is to make sure all parents and caregivers are correctly using the right restraint (rear-facing car seat, forward-facing car seat, booster seat, or seat belt) for their children’s ages and sizes.
