Thank you very much for your publication of this proposal. I have thoroughly read and studied this proposal for several months.

I was extremely disgusted by the actions of the Waikoloa Village Association Board of Directors, who basically censored Mr. Apothaker’s proposal and would not even allow it to be presented at a public meeting.

The TMT is, indeed, an emotional issue.

My take on it is this: The TMT is to explore the heavens. The ancient Polynesians were some of the greatest navigators of all time. How did they find their way across a trackless and vast ocean? The stars!

My wish is that the TMT and all the observatories would become monuments to these great navigators.
