The Hawaiʻi Police Department’s HI-PAL (Hawaiʻi Isle Police Activities League) will hold its 36th annual Winter Basketball Classic tournament in collaboration with the Department of Parks & Recreation from Monday to Thursday, Dec. 26 to  29, in Hilo.

The age cutoff date is Dec. 31, 2016. Entries are being accepted for the following age groups to be played at the locations indicated:

  • Boys and Girls 7–8 divisions at the Pana‘ewa covered courts
  • Boys 9–10 and Girls 10-and-under at the Panaewa covered courts
  • Boys 11–12 and Girls 12-and-under at the Hilo Armory
  • Boys 13–14 and Girls 14-and-under at the Afook-Chinen Civic Auditorium
  • All championship games will be played at the Afook-Chinen Civic Auditorium on Thursday, Dec. 29.

There is no entry fee for this year’s tournament.

The deadline for team entry is Friday, Nov. 25.

Before the deadline, each team is required to complete and submit a registration packet that includes the eligibility affidavit (roster) and waiver form for each participant.

Registration forms are available at all police stations.
