Big Island Company Earns ‘Best for the World’ Award
For a third consecutive year, Hawai‘i Island sustainable forestry company Hawaiian Legacy Hardwoods (HLH) was recognized as a “B Corp Best for the World” company by the non-profit organization B Lab. B Lab serves as a worldwide business movement of people using their business power for good.
HLH is only one of two Hawai‘i companies to earn the 2016 Best for the World title.
Earning a score in the top 10% for both overall and environmental impact, HLH is at the top of all B Corporations.

HLH has planted over 340,000 endemic trees across Hawai‘i, while fundraising for over 300 nonprofit organizations around the world, which is all made possible by closely working with the Hawaiian Legacy Reforestation Initiative.

Out of the 1,850, there were 138 companies chosen in the overall category and 143 in the environment category chosen for the “Best for the World.”
