HPD Seeks ID in Jewelry Theft Case

Hawaiʻi Island police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a woman wanted in connection with the theft of jewelry.

At about 1:30 p.m. on June 22, an unknown woman removed jewelry from a sales display at a store on Waterfront Row in Kailua-Kona.

The stolen item was described as a pair of gold earrings with two turtles on double-post dangles.

The suspect’s image was captured on surveillance video. She was wearing a dark T-shirt that had white print across the front and depicted the Hawaiian Islands in white on the back right shoulder.

Police ask anyone with information about this case or the identity of the person in the photo to call Officer Andrew Walters at 326-4646 or the Police Department’s non-emergency line at 935-3311.

Tipsters who prefer to remain anonymous may call the island wide Crime Stoppers number at 961-8300 and may be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000.
