Stolen Truck Leads to 13 Charges
Ashley Pagan, 32, of Kailua-Kona, found in a stolen truck on Monday, July 4, now faces 13 charges.
Kona Patrol officers responded to a report that a 2006 Nissan Frontier pickup truck had been removed from a business on the 73-4100 block of Hulikoa Drive in Kailua-Kona sometime between Sunday afternoon, July 3, and Monday morning.
Shortly before 7 p.m. Monday, an employee of the business reported that he had located the stolen truck and detained a woman seated in the vehicle, which was parked in the Kealakehe subdivision.
Responding officers arrested Pagan and charged her with violating terms of probation.
She was taken to the Kona police cellblock while detectives from the Area II Criminal Investigations Section continued the investigation into the stolen truck.
During the investigation, officers found a smoking pipe with methamphetamine residue among Pagan’s possessions and mail belonging to other persons.
At 6 p.m. Wednesday, Pagan was charged with unauthorized control of a propelled vehicle, promoting a dangerous drug, possessing drug paraphernalia, theft and eight counts of unauthorized possession of personal information.
Her bail on all counts, including the probation violation, was set at $116,000.
She was to remain at the cellblock until her court appearance today, Thursday, July 7.
