HPD Investigating Hilo Home Invasion, Robbery

Badge Hawaii Police DepartmentHawaiʻi Island police are investigating a reported “home invasion” that was reported Sunday night, June 26, in Hilo.

At approximately 7:41 p.m. Sunday, officers responded to an apartment complex on the 200 block on Haili Street after receiving a report that an 81-year-old man’s apartment was entered by female and male suspects at about 7:15 p.m.

The victim reported that the man threatened him with a knife before removing several items, including two antique firearms. The woman reportedly removed two cell phones before both suspects fled the area.

The victim was not injured in this case, which is being investigated as a first-degree robbery.

The woman is known to the victim as “Crystal” and is described as Caucasian, about 5-feet tall, about 240 pounds with long, straight blond hair.

The man is described as about 6-feet tall with a muscular build.
