HPD: Information Sought in Ocean View Hit-and-Run Case

badgeInformation regarding a hit-and-run in the Ocean View Estates subdivision on March 19 is being sought by the Hawai’i Police Department.

The incident happened on Hawai’i Boulevard and seriously injured a pedestrian.

Ka’u patrol officers responded to the incident at about 11 p.m., which was reported as a traffic accident involving a pedestrian.

A 24-year-old man, who was lying on the roadway, was run over by a vehicle traveling north on Hawai’i Boulevard.

The man sustained multiple injuries and was taken to Kona Community Hospital before being transferred to The Queen’s Medical Center in critical condition.

Police say the suspected vehicle was described as a newer-model white four-door Nissan pickup truck, being driven a Caucasian man wearing a white brim hat.
