The Hawai’i Police Department reports that all lanes of Queen Ka’ahumanu Highway are now open.

Queen Kaahumanu Highway remains closed at the 68 mile marker.

The Hawai’i Police Department says the closure is expected to last through at least 5:15 p.m.

Traffic is reportedly being routed through Kawaihae Road, as well as Waikoloa Road.

Queen Kaahumanu Highway is currently closed at the 68 mile marker near Kawaihae Road, according to Hawai’i County Civil Defense.

The closure is a result of an oil spill.

Traffic is being rerouted through Highway 190.

There is no estimated time of reopening.
