Aloha Performing Arts Company Restarts Class Season

Theatre classes at the Aloha Performing Arts Company will begin once again in April.

Felicity Johnson’s “Intergenerational Acting Class” will begin on April 7 and run on Thursdays through May 26. The class is from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and is $10 per class, or $80 for the entire season.

In addition, Jerry Tracey’s “Tuesday Troupers” class for children ages 8 through 12 will begin on April 19. The class will be held on Tuesdays through May 24 from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Participants will learn performance skills like projection, articulation, and characterization. Tuition for the six-week course is $60.

“Keiki Theatre” with Nicole Gour will resume on Wednesdays, beginning April 20. The course will run from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. through May 25. Structured play and theatre games that aim to increase self-confidence and develop stage presence will be the class focus. Tuition is $60.

All three courses will take place at the Aloha Theatre in Kainaliu. On the last day of each course, a free public performance will take place.

Engela Edwards continues as adviser of Aloha Teen Theatre, which meets Fridays from 4:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the APAC Loft, across the street and a block south of Aloha Theatre on the second floor of the building housing The King’s Daughters Thrift Store.

ATT is ongoing and accepts new members between the ages of 13 and 18 at any time.
